Towers Galore: Powder Tower, Old Town Bridge Tower and the Lesser Town Bridge Tower

These three towers are similar in design but they are located at different locations. The Powder Tower is a city gate built during the Gothic period, it's design was inspired by the gates on the Charles Bridge and now sits among other Baroque and late 19th century buildings. In the 17th Century it was used to store gunpowder, hence its name, Powder Tower.
Next door to the Powder a Tower is the Municipal House that was built and decorated in Art Nouveau. Mucha designed many of the fittings in the building.
The Old Town Tower was built in the mid 14 the Century by Emperor Charles IV as a gateway to both the old town and across the Charles Bridge to the Lesser Town and castle.

The Lesser Town Bridge on the castle side of the river. This is the oldest part of Prague. Still hoards of people about along with artists selling their work on the bridge.
The Vltava River from the other side of the bridge. All the bridges crossing the river and the old Gothic and Renaissance architecture is very similar to Florence and Paris though Prague has a character all of its own.
